Developed with mental wellness expertise from the Singapore Counselling Centre, this course goes beyond typical management training to address what modern teams actually need.

Day 1

Moving from “doing” to “leading”
Understanding your new role and responsibilities; common mistakes new managers make
What good management looks like
Setting direction; balancing results with relationships
Planning and prioritising as a manager
How to delegate effectively; following up without micromanaging
Feedback frameworks
Having difficult conversations early; building a feedback culture

Day 2

Communicating expectations clearly
Listening actively; managing up, across, and down
Recognising stress, disengagement, and burnout
What managers can and cannot do; when to refer
What psychological safety is and why it drives performance
Practical habits that build trust; handling mistakes and failure constructively
Personal action planning
Peer sharing; commitment to one change each participant will make

Who Should Attend?

This programme is designed for:

Newly promoted managers and team leads stepping into their first people management role
Supervisors who have been managing informally but have never had structured management training

Ideal for participants from any industry, particularly relevant for those managing small to mid-sized teams in fast-paced or people-intensive environments.

Prerequisites

Minimum proficiency level of the Employability Skills Workforce Skills Qualification – WPLN Level 5 (Able to speak, listen, write, and read English with numeracy skills)
Some prior supervisory or managerial experience is recommended, such as:
- Currently in a managerial / team lead role, or
- Have experience overseeing staff, projects, or team operations
